It was the next quest area that really established the unique Warhammer setting, a beautiful garden centered by an elegant fountain and surrounded by groves of trees and slender, elegant towers that marked an underground library filled with books of magic. The Dark Elves naturally were improving the place with the addition of a slave pit and a sacrificial altar. Various quests in the area had our sorceress using magical abilities to slaughter the sacred white lions in the forest, capture High Elf partisans or just cause general mayhem. Interestingly, there was actually one Dark Elf NPC standing near the fountain who didn't give quests but who had a quest marker that would light up whenever the player slaughtered a certain number of High Elves. Such "hunter" NPCs will apparently be pretty common throughout the world, offering a sort of "surprise" quest reward for players who achieve the NPC's goals. So far, so good. The game had been fun but not substantially different than many other MMOs in the post-World of Warcraft era. It was the two huge dragons -- one defending the High Elves, one summoned by the Dark Elves -- that were fighting atop some high towers at the edge of the garden that really showed us one of the ways Warhammer Online would set itself apart. What at first looked like some cool atmospheric art actually marked the first Dark Elf public quest, a regionally bound quest zone where anyone in the vicinity can get credit and loot just for helping to complete the quest's goals. In this case, the public quest was a three-part battle. We'll admit to laughing hysterically at that. You can buy cheap wow gold here !
