Out of the Box: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King DateTime:8/19/2010 4:16:50 PM
A recent post on the game's official board informs that Blizzard is offering free realm transfers from more than twenty servers to a handful of less-populous ones. Not all servers experiencing entry queues are currently on the free-transfer list; Frostmane, where many GameSpy editors play, is among these, and as of 6:00 p.m. PST there is an entry queue of more than 500 players. Estimated entry time into Frostmane is in flux, hovering between 15-20 minutes as the queue ticks down. The Burning Crusade's launch was encouragingly issue-free when it first went live, and early indications are that Wrath of the Lich King will follow suit. There has been no post-launch downtime as of yet, and the servers appear to be holding up fine. Buy cheap wow gold here ,we have cheap wow gold for sale !
On the other hand, patterns that did sometimes manage to put the brakes on the grind seem to be manifesting yet again. Though it may be too early to judge for sure, it seems like players who are normally prone to behaving like fighting fish dropped into a common pool are putting their differences aside yet again to level through Northrend. The PvP server that a bunch of us play on has been relatively free of unproductive skirmishes. If you're leveling a Death Knight, however, all bets may be off.If there is any unusual strain on the servers as a result of an inflated playerbase following the expansion's release, you wouldn't be able to tell from the ways the servers are performing well into day one. In short: Come on in, the water's fine.Your first big choice is whether you're going to start off in Howling Fjord or The Borean Tundra. Giving players the choice of two starting zones seems to have fulfilled its stated goal -- to reduce critical mass-induced lag in the most densely populated zones in the game.
