Perpetual War DateTime:5/23/2012 10:37:34 AM
Players who set their goals a bit higher than just random mayhem will want to focus on killing the city's master -- in Altdorf that would be the Emperor, Karl Franz. The resulting raid-level encounter was terrifying. Imagine dozens and dozens of ticked off wizards who cast nothing but Fireball variations. Now double that. The final encounter was with a wizard floating in a pillar of fire who was invulnerable until we could pull enough levers to turn it off. Despite his power, though, he couldn't stop the forces of Change and he eventually joined his brethren as little more than a piece of barbecued meat. Mmmmmm, barbecue. Getting to him meant killing two really scary raid-level NPCs, the heads of the Church of Sigmar and the Bright Wizard college in order to even open the way to the palace and a final fight with the Emperor that's described as "suitably epic." Our group decided to try the Bright Wizard. Buy cheap wow gold here ,we have cheap wow gold for sale !
That, unfortunately, was the end of our demonstration. Justice for Karl Franz would have to wait another day. The good news was we came away pretty impressed by what we saw. Naturally it remains to be seen if Mythic's technology can live up to its design -- these battles will have a lot of players running around in rather confined locations and frame-rates did occasionally stutter during our session. Based on our abbreviated tour, though, it looks like they're on the right track. Anything that lets us smash the forces of decency and righteousness (and their IGN lapdogs) has our interest.
