The Witch Elves, as opposed to the Black Guard's heavily armored fanaticism, are nearly naked fanatics. Female only, the Witch Elves combine potion use with murderous knife skill, serving the Dark Elves as a melee DPS class with various buff and debuff abilities. Positional attacks, such as attacking from behind an enemy, also figures into the Witch Elves' abilities. Like the Dwarven grudge, as you attack the Black Guard his hatred towards you grows. Hatred allows him to fuel incredibly devastating attacks, creating a system wherein once you engage a Black Guard, you need to be ready to finish him fast. We had a few concerns about the new classes and some of the other content, and Drescher was kind enough to put up with the whole gauntlet of questions about them. Perhaps most importantly, tanks will gain a few abilities to insure that in PvP it's still dangerous to attempt to bypass them. All melee classes will have a sprint command, letting them run down foes. In addition, tanks will have some positional bonuses, primarily giving them the ability to smack the brains out of you if you turn your back on them.Witch Elves attacks help them build up combo ("frenzy") points, unlocking powerful attacks that require a certain level of frenzy to initiate. They can also poison their blades, and imbibe their own concoctions. A potion might grant the Witch Elf a vastly improved attack, but lower her armor.
