Try and level as best you can with rested XP, as the boost you get is remarkable. Better yet, if you have a friend thinking about playing, get him in now to see Azeroth before the change, using the refer-a-friend program. You both will get 3x XP, free levels, and a cool mount. Quest where you can, but if you get wow gold. If you are a tank or healer you are almost guaranteed an instant party. I caution you though, do not queue as a tank or healer if you are not geared appropriately or prepared to do those rolls. You will just frustrate the group and possible get vote kicked.
Blizzard knows how to put together a cinematically beautiful story trailer, this should put it to rest. Some might even say that their cinematics could warrant a movie themselves. The epic scope of the opening will do a great deal in preparing players for the changes that they will see when entering the new world of Azeroth.
